feel the excitement of a desert storm in “Monsoon Dragons,” and you will hear
the rain on the tin roof of his childhood home. This book is rich with fresh
metaphors as this new poet explores the human experience with candor and
relevance.
When I urged Michaud to write poetry, he began tentatively at first,
then he plunged in and immersed himself in the world of poetry. Currently,
he serves the San Antonio Poets Association as treasurer, program chair-
man, and Webmaster, and in 2007 and 2009 was the first runner-up for the
title of Poet Laureate. He is the Webmaster, councilor at large, and legal
counsel for the Poetry Society of Texas. He is also serves as legal counsel
for the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, Inc., as well as legal
counsel for A Galaxy of Verse. He hosts a monthly poetry venue at the
Northwoods Barnes and Noble, and he is the board chairman and the mov-
ing force in founding the Laurel Crown Foundation, a non-profit organi-
zation dedicated to developing and promoting the literary arts, especially
poetry.
Michaud plays the trumpet in his church orchestra and is a busy prac-
ticing attorney, yet he still finds time to seek the muse. This book is just the
first course of a poetry feast that this prolific writer will serve in the years
to come.
